iChabber r38: Added support for Jabber

Developer Alexander Chukov has released a new build of the iChabber instant messaging homebrew application for the iPhone. Aside from supporting Google’s Gtalk, this new build, dubbed r38, will now also support this with Jabber accounts.

Other updates that the dev’s included are several bug fixes, Russian and French localizations, and new users settings. Quoting the dev’s changelogs:

• r38:
• French localization by Dualcore (SOSiPhone.com);
• icons for jabber, gtalk and icq transport contacts;
• resolvehost fix.
• r32:
• new message badge
• fix crash after bad login
• set focus on reply text window
• userlist sorting by new messages
• sound and vibration settings
• russian localization.
• r18:
• parser bug fixes, contact list sorting by status. If you have a problem with connection over GPRS/EDGE to gtalk, try next: set Google Talk switch ‘OFF’, enter IP address for talk.google.com (ex. 72.14.253.125) and set SSL switch ‘ON’. The same for the problem with connection to jabber - replace host name to host IP address.

• The problem of messages receiving from gtalk gadget is fixed.
